Bio: Growing up in an exceptionally musical family, Tony Eichler had his first encounter with a recording studio at age 11, when he accompanied his older sister to a vocal session for a local commercial jingle. "When I laid eyes on all of the buttons, knobs and meters, and watched how the engineer worked his magic to coax this bigger-than-life sound to emerge from the speakers, I was hooked!" At age 15, Tony built his first recording console and set up a small studio in his parents' home where he began recording local artists, including his sister. It was then that he began collecting the rare and exotic microphones and vacuum tube audio gear that he still employs today. "I've always had an affinity for vacuum tube electronics, and even as a kid I was fascinated by the tube type record player and TV in my home." Tony quickly developed an understanding of electronic circuitry out of necessity, since no one else was available to repair or build the items he needed to make his recordings. After graduating High School, Tony attended the Recording Institute of America's, Modern Recording Techniques program, and the Omega School of Applied Recording Arts and Sciences Advanced Recording Techniques program (at which in subsequent years he ended up teaching).

Over the past two decades Tony has become a fixture in the Mid-Atlantic music scene, and is sought after for his unique engineering style and innate production sensibilities. "I truly love all genres of music and I've been fortunate in my career to have worked on practically every style, from alternative rock, big band, jazz and world music, to full-on symphony orchestra, you name it, I've recorded it!" Tony joined the Selectracks team in 2004 and his background and expertise have proven to be the perfect fit for the diverse variety of recording projects that the production company offers. "I really feel at home at Selectracks and the people here are the nicest and most talented group I've ever had the fortune to work with." Working at the East Coast facility is indeed a true homecoming for Tony. Back in the early 90s, he was hired on as Chief Engineer of what was then the area's busiest studio (the now defunct Oz Recording Studios), which now houses Selectracks' East Coast production facilities. "I feel like I've come full-circle working here again, this was always my favorite studio. The studio acoustics here are absolutely stunning!" Tony has incorporated his huge collection of microphones and audio exotica into Selectracks' equipment arsenal. "Combining our state-of-the-art digital recording system with equipment and microphones from the 1930s to the present, we can quickly create sonically accurate productions of virtually any era or style that the client demands." Tony has found his true calling working on music for film and television and is a valued member of the Selectracks team.
